Red Feathers Lake is an unincorporated community 45 miles west of Fort Collins. Originally founded around 1900 by a group of ranchers and loggers, today the area is home to a guest ranch, a few restaurants, and a trading post all while visitors can enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting that surrounds this community.
Cache La Poudre North Park Scenic & Historic Byway – one of the best ways to explore the area is with a drive along this scenic byway. Taking travelers between the mountains to the plains, from the west side of the Continental Divide to the start of the northern plains near Fort Collins.
Surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest, Red Feathers Lake is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. With hiking, backpacking, fishing, rafting, boating, and kayaking the possibilities are endless. With the Cache La Poudre River (Colorado’s only federally designated National and Wild Scenic River) close by and the Red Feathers Lake, water activities seem endless.
